I generally take a psychoanalytic and relational approach to psychotherapy, incorporating techniques from various therapeutic modalities. This means that I can act as a mirror to relationship dynamics that play out in your life, including by looking at relationship dynamics that take place between therapist and client. I provide safety, comfort, and challenge, helping you gain insight to break old, destructive patterns – giving you hope to finally find freedom.
I am active in the therapy session, as well as thoughtful, insightful, and genuine. Drawing upon your strengths and wisdom, as well as my own, I help you put things together in a way that makes sense to you so that you may better understand yourself and others.
I can help you see things differently and respond to situations and other people differently. I can help you see yourself differently, and help you find better directions for your life. I can also teach you practical skills, including skills for anger management, assertiveness, and effective communication.
Whom I Serve
I work with individual adults and youth (teens and preteens) who come to me willingly and voluntarily. Those seeking my services should contact me directly, expressing their interest.
In addition to helping with ineffective relationships, I help a diversity of people with a wide range of issues and problems: depression, anxiety, stress, and school-related problems, to name a few.
Some people may receive services together (e.g., couple’s therapy, family therapy); however, there may be times when I suggest that I meet with a client or clients individually.
If I assess that my services may not be suitable for you, I can suggest other resources.
How Do I Get Started?
Book a consult.
If you have not reviewed and completed the New Client Package prior to arriving for your first consult appointment, please arrive 15 to 20 minutes early to do so.
During your 50-minute face-to-face consult, we will review some expectations for therapy. I will provide you with my initial impressions of your difficulties along with recommendations for treatment. Additionally, it is not unusual to begin therapy at the first consult appointment, so be prepared to possibly leave with something at your first appointment! The cost for the consult is the same as for follow-up appointments.
