A Few Words

About Me & What I Do

Deep work

Sustained, deep, profound relief

Don't settle for patch-jobs: Get to the root of the problem

Are you seeking therapy or counselling because you want to address a specific difficulty, such as finding healthier romantic relationships, anxiety, depression, loneliness, or getting unstuck professionally? Many find relief at the outset of therapy by feeling deeply heard and understood, and by learning new skills to cope with immediate difficulties. Over time, as treatment progresses over the long-term, we will do the ‘deep work’ necessary for durable change and healing to occur.

Our goal in therapy will be to get down to the root of your challenges to bring sustained, deep, profound relief.

Therapy is provided via telephone or secure videoconferencing technology.

What you can expect to gain in therapy

Journeying Together

Trusting the process

In addition to alleviating your most pressing concerns, and improving your ability to adapt and cope with stressors and difficulties, our goal and focus will be to target the core issues and underlying root causes that cause you difficulty, pain, and problems. Short-term relief gives you the emotional space to go deeper for real healing: We will use that space to build the foundations for meaningful, long-term, sustained growth.

We will work together towards hope, wholeness, and opening up to new life possibilities! We will focus on facilitating access to your ‘true’ self, enabling you to unlock increased degrees of freedom within your life and improving your overall life satisfaction.

How you feel and function today is a result of your past experiences, from childhood to the present. Understanding your past helps you understand your present. In therapy, you can gain insights that support and sustain change. My role in the therapeutic relationship is to support your growth and to help you see what is difficult to see by yourself. We will be “co-explorers”, jointly exploring your past and orienting your future. Working together, you can develop deeper romantic relationships, healthier family dynamics, get along better with work colleagues, mitigate anxiety and depression, and find more meaning and purpose.

In therapy, I will be your guide in discovering yourself. You can better understand what is getting in the way of good relationships. We will explore what from the past is blocking you today, while also learning what to do in the moment and how to more effectively build relationships.

Patients often tell me that they thought that no one could understand them until they dove deep into our therapeutic relationship. Therapy is a safe, non-judgmental space where you can invest in yourself and your future.

Gain Insight - Make Changes

Therapy tailored to your needs, your experience, and deep healing

Let's clear away whatever is holding you back

The insights that you gain through counselling will be based on what we learn together as we explore your difficulties and better understand your past. My commitment as a therapist, and my reputation, are based on helping you make progress towards your goals and relieving the underlying emotional difficulties that fuel your distress.

We will work to address the issues that are important to you and that are holding you back. This may include anger, anxiety, being more assertive, or communicating better in your personal and professional life. We can better understand and relieve depression, grief, low self-esteem, stress, panic attacks, constant worrying, and a feeling of lack of purpose or direction.

In therapy, we will draw from different approaches including family systems theory, existential, interpersonal, psychoanalytic, and psychodynamic. I am trained in, and often apply interventions from, cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) and dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT). I also apply concepts and principles from acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) and cognitive processing therapy (CPT). I coach assertiveness and teach effective communication skills. Additionally, I offer a faith-based, spiritually-integrated approach for those who wish for such an experience.

Trust Experience

A therapist’s therapist

Get help from the therapist other therapists go to!

Did you know that therapists need help and get therapy, too? Therapists come to me for their own healing and to improve their own clinical practices. Why not go directly to the therapist’s therapist?

Trust Skill

Good therapy takes courage — not only from you, but also from your therapist!

Where Comfort and Challenge Meet

Emphasis is often placed on the commendable courage it takes for a patient to show up to therapy. Equally important are the skill, experience, and confidence required of your therapist to show up courageously. I’m not the kind of therapist who simply nods passively: In my clinical work, I provide both comfort and challenge to help you make real change and progress in your life. As your therapist, I am uniquely positioned to offer insights that can help you see things in ways you may have never seen before, expanding your vision of yourself, your relationships, and your world. You deserve to benefit from these insights. Do not get shortchanged in therapy—reach out today and book your consultation!
